Fallston, MD Project: Transporting 16 Lines-Goldhofer THP Trailers

In June 2019, our crew completed a heavy rigging and hauling project in Belcamp, Maryland, transloading a transformer from rail to our 16 line Goldhofer THP trailers and safely transporting and offloading to its foundation.
Working with the Riggers crew members, 10 traffic control team members, 6 bucket truck drivers and local law enforcement we hauled the transformer nearly 12 miles to the utilities substation and offloaded it to the foundation safe and error free.
Following our commitment to safety in all our heavy hauling projects, we used 40’ jumper bridges to allow this load to safely travel across a local structure. This project required months of planning and coordination between Maryland state and Maryland district 4 permitting agencies.
We installed the jumper bridges over the local bridge, allowing the transformer, trailer and equipment – which had a combined gross vehicle weight of 576,000 lbs. – to cross without damaging the structure.
