Case Study: Belcamp, MD Heavy Equipment Hauling Project
What Did We Do?
In June 2019, our crew completed a heavy rigging and hauling project in Belcamp, Maryland, transloading a transformer from rail to our 16 line Goldhofer THP trailers and safely transporting and offloading to its foundation.
This project required months of planning and coordination between Maryland state and Maryland district 4 permitting agencies.
How Did We Do It?
We hauled the transformer nearly 12 miles to the utilities substation using 40’ jumper bridges to allow this load to travel across a local structure safely.
We installed the jumper bridges over the local bridge, allowing the transformer, trailer and equipment – which had a combined gross vehicle weight of 576,000 lbs. – to cross without damaging the structure.

The End Result?
We hauled the transformer to the utilities substation and offloaded it to the foundation safe and error free.
